i’m back!! with a little legs and a cooler

I feel almost 100% and loved waking up and picking what I wanted to do at the gym today So on days I am working downtown I literally only have 30 minutes at the gym (even if I get there right at 5:30 when it opens) so today I did a quick booty circuit. I did all of the following exercises in a row, rested for a minute and then repeated two more times. Wall squats with a stability ball (holding a 10lb plate) x 15 Single leg squats (with your back foot on a ball) 10x each leg Froggies on the ball x15 Heel kicks on the ball x15 Leg curls on the ball x15 Single leg glute bridges 10x each leg ***The frog kicks and the heel kicks are just like this video except for the...

bulk cooking for the week (LiveFit 19)

bulk cooking for the week (LiveFit 19)

So I woke up this morning and did Day 19 of the LiveFit trainer – Shoulders and Abs. I’m excited for Week 4 to start tomorrow mostly because I am ready for everything that comes after it. I am kind of bored without supersets, cardio, etc. This is what my kitchen looks like (almost) every Sunday. We do pretty much all of our food shopping at Costco. I still pick up a few things from a smaller store like Fry’s or Sprouts but not too much. We buy the meat in bulk and just freeze it and then I cook everything in bulk so we go through it pretty fast. This time we were pretty much out of everything so this is what we bought: for both: frozen skinless...

LiveFit Trainer Day 9

LiveFit Trainer Day 9

So because I am adding an extra day of legs in at the beginning of Weeks 1 & 2 (yesterday I did legs), today is technically Day 9 for me on the trainer even though I did the workout from Day 8. Sorry if it’s confusing at all. It won’t be once I get past this week because I won’t have to add in the extra day. I felt like crap yesterday so I slept in this morning but I made sure to pack all my stuff for the gym to go right after school. I was debating just going home (still didn’t feel good) but the gym won after I saw this on Pinterest. I’m so glad it did because it was a quick (40 minute) workout but my triceps were dying at the...

mini apple turkey burgers

mini apple turkey burgers

Last night I made mini versions of my favorite turkey burgers, mostly because the mini ones require less of my time in the cooking process. (don’t mind the burnt pan, it has gotten ALOT of use) Ingredients: 1 package lean ground turkey (mine was 93/7 from Costco and 18oz) 1/4 large onion chopped 1/4 gala apple chopped 2 cloves garlic chopped 1/2 tbsp evoo 1/4 teaspoon all spice 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg Directions: Preheat oven to 350. Mix all ingredients in large bowl. Form into golf size balls. Place onto non-stick cookie sheet (or sheet sprayed with evoo). I like using a cookie sheet instead of mini muffin tins for these because then the fat can cook off. Bake for 40...

clean chicken cacciatore

I wrote this yesterday but I wanted to wait so I didn’t take away from the tribute that yesterday should represent. Sooo… Yay for the Jets!! The Fatkid is from New York and because I love him I love the Jets too. I have always been a fan of football but liked college better. When we started dating I adopted the Jets and then watching Rex Ryan on Hard Knocks last year just sealed the deal for me. Today’s game was sooooo good and they made an incredible comeback. Now…..on to food: The Fatkid is obsessed with these individual meatloaves so he asked for them this week. I also tried Jamie Eason’s marinade of 1 tbsp dijon...

Day One – Jamie Eason’s 12 Week Trainer

So, as I mentioned yesterday I am dong Jamie Eason’s 12 week trainer and started today. Because I want to add an extra leg day I am duplicating the leg workout (Day 3) at the beginning of my week which means I did it today. I liked it, it was super quick and efficient. Then I made meals for the week. Under the tummy treats tab find the recipes for my slow-cooker chicken, turkey chili and berry protein bars. I also made Jamie’s turkey meatloaf muffins, lemon chicken (chicken with lemon juice and seasoning, baked) brown rice and hard boiled eggs. I only took a few pics – sorry they are not awesome…it was way past dark by the time I was...

turkey meatloaf “muffins”

Jamie Eason has a great meatloaf muffin recipe but I wanted to do it a little differently so I played around today and this is what I came up with: Ingredients: 1 package lean ground turkey 1 small onion 1 yellow squash 3 garlic cloves 1 piece whole wheat bread 3 egg whites 2 tbsp mixed seasoning (no salt) 1/4 tsp chili powder a few shakes of pepper Sauce* Mix equal parts hot sauce of your choice – I used Arizona Gunslinger and worcestershire Directions: Preheat oven to 350. I put each veggie and the bread in the food processor separately to finely chop them but I think you could do them all together. Mix all ingredients together. Portion into a sprayed muffin...
