What I Ate Wednesday and a Leg Workout!

First for What I Ate Wednesday…. I have been doing protein powder with almond milk and coffee pre workout pretty much every day. Post workout I do a quick shake with protein powder, almond milk, almond flour and 1/2 banana. My actual breakfast for the next few weeks will be egg whites, yams and avocado. Mid morning has been a protein pancake but that will have to go soon too Lunch is steak with yams, veggies and avocado. Afternoon has been tuna and veggies (no pic) and dinner will probably be fish or egg whites. I have been wanting to barf at the thought of chicken lately so it’s out for a while. Taking a Break from the Gym and a Mini-Meltdown

So exactly a week ago I posted this picture on Instagram and noticed that while I was getting leaner, I was also getting smaller. That morning my knee was also killing me so I didn’t do sprints. Then Friday night the Fatkid and I were getting ready for dinner when we both realized that I looked too thin and we figured out that I have lost about 5-6 pounds in the last few weeks. This is not good. It means even though I think I am handling all the stress well, my body is not. weekend workouts

So my weekend was full of school stuff (no Fatkid ) and lots of gym time I did back and bis on Friday (but didn’t right it down – I promise I will next time!); legs on Saturday and Shoulders/Tris and Abs today. I also did cardio every day and it is taking some getting used to. I have been pretty much Paleo since Thursday now although I did add in some carbs yesterday for legs – I had oatmeal post workout and a brown rice, bean and cheese burrito later in the day – SO GOOD! But I haven’t been having headaches or any extra fatigue since cutting out grains so I’m pretty happy with it so far. I am doing my bulk cooking tomorrow night...

paleo(ish), shoulders and abs

So if you were around last summer you might remember when I went Paleo for a few weeks before we went to New York. I basically cut out grains and got my carbs from veggies and fruit. I took me a few days to adjust but once I did I felt great….and then we went to New York and I ate pie, pizza and pasta for 10 days. Needless to say I haven’t ever gone back to Paleo because I love my oats and legumes and sometimes, yes, my pizza. But I have also been eating gluten lately (which my body does not like) so I decided to go cold turkey at least for a week or so and see how I feel. So I promised you guys I would share my plan with you and I can’t lie – I didn’t make one last weekend because I had a little too much fun at a bridal expo with one of my friends Work has been busy lately and I have to leave my house at 7:15am to get there by 8:00am so that means I literally can only work out for 30 minutes in the AM because my gym opens at 5:30. Some of these I will just have to do after work. So today and yesterday were days 79 and 80 of the trainer. I did the same thing I did last week (I am over chest) and added in an extra shoulder day. I cannot believe there are only 3 days left of the trainer for me. I loved yesterday’s workout on shoulders – last week the same workout and the leg workout I did today were when I was crashing from low calories and lack of sleep. I think I was pushing myself harder yesterday and my shoulders were burning by the time I was done. I also killed sprints if I do say so myself When I finish sprints (and for hours afterwords) I swear I can feel my body working to rebuild my muscles – I love it! I am also starting to see my shoulder veins when I work out (which I HATE) but I know it means I am around or below 15% body fat, so I am leaning out. slow cooker bar-b-que pork

LiveFit Day 53! I think I have said this before but when I do my free weight upper body lifting I love to do it on a bosu ball. It helps keep my core engaged the whole time so anytime I can do this I will. Don’t mind the outfit or terrible picture – it’s hard to hold a camera steady while balancing on a ball. I had a great workout today despite sleeping in (apparently I needed it) and went up in weight for two exercises big grin! And….yesterday when I did a mid week run to Costco I decided to buy pork. This is how my morning started for a few reasons. Ugh. I swear I have been having that day for two weeks. I’m over it. I need a weekend where I can actually relax and not worry that I have a paper and reading and research and laundry and grocery shopping and cooking and cleaning and everything else to do. This weekend is not that weekend but at least I can be at home trying to do everything instead of at school and work. Sorry for the bitch vent but it needed to happen. Yikes! I did NOT realize I hadn’t blogged since last week because it was a mad house at our house last week.
