My Go-To All Natural Detox and Sunday Food Prep

First off, thank you for all of your comments and email in response to my post this week. It meant a lot to hear your feedback and I appreciate all the kind comments. Now on to questions…. So I got a lot of questions about my detox post on Instagram yesterday. Almost every day I wake up and the first thing I drink is a cup of hot water with the juice of 1/2 lemon squeezed into it, followed by a glass of regular water. This just helps jump start your system and I like to do it. When I have been eating a lot of junk (i.e. candy, gluten, wine, etc.) then I add in ACV for a week or so. It is the ACV “with the mother” meaning un-pastureized. It tastes...

WIAW and a Sneak of the Bridal Shower

This is a quick What I Ate Wednesday because I have been meaning to blog more about my eats and I have been doing a terrible job taking pictures :/ First a sneak peak at my bridal shower weekend (I am waiting on more pics for the full post because my maid of honor did an INCREDIBLE job). Below are two of my bridesmaids and my future little sister-in-law. These ladies are some of my closest friends see if you can spot Brittany in there. And a sneak at the decor and my MOH. There was amazing food and a champagne bar that I will get into more detail on later And here are some quick pics of what my go-tos have been lately – with my bulk cooking pic from Sunday...

my final year of law school – yikes!!

So I cannot believe that I am about to start my last year of law school tomorrow. I had orientation for my externship today (I work for an agency for school credit) and I am really excited about it. The only minor bummer about this semester is that I have already taken most of the 3 and 4 credit classes offered this semester so I am taking six 2 credit classes, plus an externship, plus working at the law firm I worked at this summer, plus a position on the executive committee for my journal – whew! Not to mention planning the wedding and the Fatkid’s 30th birthday – so excited about those two events ) obviously! Soooo, in light of my schedule the...

baked eggs and a cooler for the day

baked eggs and a cooler for the day

First let me preface this with the fact that I have tried a hundred dozen different ways to get the elusive ‘perfect’ hard boiled egg and they are either undercooked – which grosses me out. OR they are so hard to peel the Fatkid cries about it and makes me do it for him – plus you always lose a ton of the white when they are hard to peel. So I pinned this the other day and decided to try it last night. BAKED EGGS! Who knew?? Seriously though – who knew this and hadn’t told me yet??? I put my eggs in a muffin tin and  preheat the oven to 325. I baked them for 30 minutes and then took one out, cooled it in water really quick and...

bulk cooking and week 8

Yesterday I started Week 8 of the LiveFit trainer and I am so ready to be in the third phase and 2/3 of the way done. Just 7 more days! Thinking about it I can’t believe that I have been able to stick to it for 50 days and not let school and stress get in the way. I am pretty proud of myself I also went up a weight for 21s which always makes me happy: Bulk cooking made my kitchen a MESS – as always. But at least afterwards my fridge was full I cut all my veggies, cooked quinoa bakes, enchiladas, lemon chicken, and a new protein pancake but I still have to work the kinks out of it. I got a few questions about it on facebook so here are the answers: I...

bulk cooking for the week (LiveFit 19)

bulk cooking for the week (LiveFit 19)

So I woke up this morning and did Day 19 of the LiveFit trainer – Shoulders and Abs. I’m excited for Week 4 to start tomorrow mostly because I am ready for everything that comes after it. I am kind of bored without supersets, cardio, etc. This is what my kitchen looks like (almost) every Sunday. We do pretty much all of our food shopping at Costco. I still pick up a few things from a smaller store like Fry’s or Sprouts but not too much. We buy the meat in bulk and just freeze it and then I cook everything in bulk so we go through it pretty fast. This time we were pretty much out of everything so this is what we bought: for both: frozen skinless...

clean chicken cacciatore

I wrote this yesterday but I wanted to wait so I didn’t take away from the tribute that yesterday should represent. Sooo… Yay for the Jets!! The Fatkid is from New York and because I love him I love the Jets too. I have always been a fan of football but liked college better. When we started dating I adopted the Jets and then watching Rex Ryan on Hard Knocks last year just sealed the deal for me. Today’s game was sooooo good and they made an incredible comeback. Now…..on to food: The Fatkid is obsessed with these individual meatloaves so he asked for them this week. I also tried Jamie Eason’s marinade of 1 tbsp dijon...
