killer arms and a pain in my neck

So I did my arm workout today despite waking up with a killer kink in my neck. First I did some yoga using iTrain (more on that later this week).

  • 21s
  • Cable (with rope) Push Down (superset w/)
  • Cable Curl
  • Single Arm Tricep Pull Down (reverse grip) (superset w/)
  • Reverse Grip Curls
  • Tricep Kickbacks (superset w/)
  • Preacher Curls
  • Double Tricep Pull Down (reverse grip) (superset w/)
  • Hammer Curl with Twist

I KILLED my arms with the supersets and cannot believe how much I missed workouts like this.

Unfortunately my neck got worse and I went to the chiropractor before we went to look at more venues. My mom came up from Tucson and she accompanied me and the Fatkid to look at three venues. We have narrowed it down to two and I will post about them some more tomorrow.

I don’t think I will be able to do my heavy leg workout tomorrow if my neck is still like this so I may have to shift some things around.

I will also be doing Costco and bulk cooking tomorrow so be sure to check back.

I hope you all had a wonderful and safe holiday weekend :) )

  1. Oh no, let you neck rest up, those tweaks can turn into long term problems! Your arms look great! Supersets are the best. There’s not any in my current program either and I can’t wait to do them again!

    • I know I got a painful but necessary massage today and then laid in bed. I can’t wait to be better!!

  2. I’m jealous of your toned arms! It seems like the more I work mine out, the bigger they get.

    • Thanks Alysha! I actually build muscle easily in my arms so I do higher reps but lighter weights to tone and define instead of build them up more. I didn’t really use anything over 15lbs for this workout.

  3. Whoa! Pipes! Awesome.

Can’t wait to hear about the venues… and I love your ideas for bulk cooking! Let us know what you end up making.

I hope your neck feels better! Sometimes rest is what you need – especially after a chiro visit.

    • Thanks Monica! I ended up not being able to cook because Costco was closed for the holiday :( so I will make do tomorrow.

  4. You look AMAZING lady! SO proud of you! I hope your neck feels better ASAP. I am a major fan of costco + bulk cooking prep day and cannot wait to see a recap of yours! :-D

    • Ugh I #failed on that :( Costco was closed!! But thank you on the arms and yes I am finally feeling better :)

  5. I love your blog and have been following it for quite some time. A few of the things I enjoy (there are many) about your blog is how real you are. I am beginning school again and I work full time and love working out. You show that it’s all possible and give me relief when I look at the road ahead. I am also a step mom and I love your recipes and work outs and just want to thank you for taking the time to post for all us readers. Keep it up!

    • Aww thanks so much Hayley!! That is awesome that you are mom/student/wife and worker – I have no idea how I will fit it all in when I have kids so I really commend every mom out there that makes time for themselves and their health to set a good example. :) I’m so glad the blog helps you out and keep up the awesome work!!

  6. Feel better, Monika! Those dang pains are the worst! Can I have your arms? Please and thanks.
